For more than 35 years Axel Semrau GmbH & Co. KG has experience
in the distribution and development of system solutions for
chromatography and mass spectrometry. One focus is the efficient
automation of complex workflows in the laboratory. Sample preparation
and analysis techniques of GC-MS and LC-MS are integrated into one
workstation. In order to realize this, we develop our own hardware and
software. This enables in particular a time efficient design of the
workflows. Therefore the basis of automation, the self-developed control
software CHRONOS, was named after the god of time. The automation
solutions are sold under the brand name CHRONECT. This consists of the
name of the software and the English term "to connect" with each other.
OEM dealer
In
2019, as an OEM dealer, we have taken over the worldwide support of the
resellers of the Dutch manufacturer Spark Holland BV. Complete
solutions are also created in this area. CHRONECT Symbiosis couples
automatic sample preparation with effective online SPE, for example to
enable the analysis of glyphosate in food. The own solutions are
distributed by dealers all over the world.
Sales is another core
competence of the company, because it all started primarily with sales
and service support of laboratory equipment. Highest quality and
comprehensive support are in the focus. For a long time, this service
and high-quality laboratory equipment, such as the flash chromatographs
and syringe pumps from Teledyne ISCO, have formed the basis for
customer-oriented action.
The devices and solutions are used in
research and development, quality control and analysis. Especially in
the field of food analysis we are known for innovative and reliable
solutions. However, there are also applications for water and
environmental analysis or the pharmaceutical sector.
In the 1990s
and 2000s, the company grew especially with the ODOR business unit.
Here, energy suppliers in the gas industry are supported with services
and own products for natural gas analysis and odorization control.
The
employees behind the technology are decisive for our success. They
drive forward product developments and applications so that solutions to
the problems of everyday laboratory life can be found. In order to be
able to provide customers with reliable and personal support even in
times of change, over 50 employees are currently working in the areas of
research and application development, technology and customer service,
sales and marketing, administration and logistics. The team consists
mainly of employees with scientific knowledge in chemistry, biology, IT
and economics. Before company founder Axel Semrau retired from
day-to-day business in 2010, he prepared the smooth handover to his
successors. The current managing directors, Dr. Andreas Bruchmann and
Frank Sasse, follow this example. Young colleagues, who learn from the
„old hands“but also bring in a fresh wind, increasingly supplement the
team. Five apprentices are learning in the IT and commercial areas.
Individual development opportunities for employees prevent the lack of
skilled workers and help the next generation to prepare for their tasks.
In this way, the company can be led safely into the future and drive
forward the development of innovative analysis methods.
The
company has been a certified training company by the German Chamber of
Industry and Commerce since 2004 and has been certified according to DIN
ISO 9001 since 2008.
