FREETA-α is a three-stage emulsion and powder dissolution device made of corrosion-resistant SS304 stainless steel. The device consists of three compartments with three motors. Each motor controls a separate impeller system in each compartment. This helps maximize polymer dissolution. This is especially true for powdered polymers due to their insoluble nature when in this form.

The three compartments include a primary melting tank, a secondary melting tank and further melting in the final compartment. The polymer solution is fed into the machine (for centrifuges) or through a reaction tank containing waste water to produce sludge (for other machines). The compartments have a system of interconnected valves that help maintain a constant concentration of the polymer solution. At the same time, continuous supply helps the mud press to operate continuously.

    Solubility properties of polymers
Polymers exist in three forms: solid, emulsion, and soluble solution. Soluble forms are the product of mixing polymers in solids and emulsions. Among them, solid powder polymers are the most commonly used. The reason is that it is easy to store, easy to preserve, and convenient to transport.

However, the characteristic of this polymer is that it is difficult to dissolve. They are soluble in water only at very low concentrations. The agitation system creates a vortex that exposes the polymer particles repeatedly. The complete wetting process covers the entire polymer particle with a water film. This surrounding film makes the polymer more soluble in water. Without this coating, surface tension limits the contact of polymer particles with water, making it more difficult for the polymer to completely dissolve.

  • The main agent in the dissolution process is agitation. If the mixing speed is too slow, the polymer will not dissolve in water. Too fast and the polymer breaks down its fibrous structure, rendering it inactive. To overcome this problem, FREETA-α is designed to control the stirring motor. Additionally, the structure with many partitions ensures a sufficiently long retention time in the polymer solution line. The purpose is to completely dissolve.

After dissolution, the long twisted filamentous structure of the polymer must undergo a certain waiting time for this twisted structure to stretch. FREETA-α can be incubated at an optimal time of 30-60 minutes, depending on the machine capacity required. Dissolved polymer products have high viscosity, are bubble-free and contain no undissolved polymer particles. Concentrations ranging from 0.15 – 0.2%.

FREETA-α is available in many versions with different volumes to suit all your needs.
