The PreGrind™ beater blade mill handles the first processing stage in the two-stage grinding process from Bühler Barth. The mill is used to grind roasted, alkalized and non-alkalized nibs. Even with raw materials that vary widely in quality, the PreGrind™ ensures homogenous and uniform milling. The cell structure of the nibs is split in the PreGrind™ using high-speed beater blades. The resulting release of the cocoa butter transforms the milled product from a solid to a liquid state. The cocoa liquor is then pumped into a homogenization system for further processing in the Bühler Barth FineGrind™ bead mill.
Robust machine design for maximum productivity
The PreGrind™ beater blade mill features an exceedingly robust gap screen and housing construction. This ensures reliable continuous operation even at high load. Particular value was placed on the solid design of the wear parts.
User-friendly concept
Thanks to easy access to the processing zone and the intelligent opening mechanism, replacing wear parts is quick and straightforward. Downtimes are kept to a minimum. The modern, user-friendly service concept is another advantage of the PreGrind™: All peripheral instruments are centrally arranged in the service rack.
High level of energy efficiency and food safety
Efficient use of energy during system operation and adherence to strict hygiene specifications are further features of the mill. Optional extensions mean that the system can be adapted individually to suit customer requirements and guarantees end products of highest quality.
